August E's defines Nouveau Texas Cuisine as the uncommon pairing of traditional Texas fare with the innovative creativity of Executive Chef Leu Savanh resulting in extraordinary gourmet cuisine. Chef Leu's ingenuity is inspired by his Thai roots and twenty years of experience in various culinary pursuits throughout the world.

Delicious SteakAugust E's is located in the heart of the abundant organic produce and wine region of the Texas Hill Country. Fortunate to have access to superb local suppliers, August E's utilizes Diamond H Ranch in Bandera and Broken Arrow Ranch in Ingram for Angus beef, quail, venison, axis, wild boar, elk and antelope and George Pehl Orchards near Fredericksburg for organic produce. Every day guests not only enjoy our signature prime Angus steaks which have been dry aged for 30 days, hand finished to perfection and grilled to specification, but also hours-picked organic produce prepared at the peak of flavor. August E's also proudly serves kobe or wagyu beef provided by Yama Beef, duck from Maple Leaf Farms, and fois gras from Hudson Valley Fois Gras. Menu specials change seasonally based on the creative mood of Chef Leu and the seasonality and freshness of ingredients, including never frozen seafood shipped overnight from various locations throughout the world.

Sunset at August E'sAugust E's maintains a full bar with specialty cocktails as well as an extensive selection of some of the finest wines from around the world, discerningly selected by owner, Dawn Savanh. These are offered to compliment your meal or to simply sip while enjoying the peace and beauty of a spectacular Hill Country sunset from the panoramic deck.

OWNERS

Dawn and Leu Savanh have traveled the world collecting dining destination experiences and gaining expertise that have influenced and enhanced their vision for August E's. Both Dawn and Leu bring these unique talents to the daily operation of August E's, ensuring each guest an extraordinary culinary experience in this enchanted country setting.

Dawn and Leu are supported in the kitchen by two very talented sous chefs who bring with each of them a unique expertise developed through their individual experiences at the Cordon Bleu School in London and the fine resorts of Manzanilla Mexico, respectively.

OUR NAME

Ebers CrestIn 2004, Dawn and Leu Savanh purchased the historic August Ebers family homestead on Old San Antonio Road in Kendall County, Texas, only minutes from the restaurant. Mr. Ebers was one of the original settlers of Grapetown in the Texas Hill Country, arriving in 1860 from Germany to establish the first dairy in this part of the country. The property was held by the Ebers' estate for over 100 years until 1966. In honor of the Ebers' family contributions to the development of this beautiful and bountiful part of Texas, Dawn and Leu named their restaurant after August Ebers.
